Did you know that Acer has operations in so many places all around the globe? Here's a list...you'll be surprised..

In Australia, its called Acer Computer Australia (ACA). It was established in 1990 and is currently Australia's 3rd largest personal computer vendor, behind Hewlett-Packard Australia and Dell Australia and New Zealand. Acer Computer Australia has Australia's highest overall market share in notebook PC and tablet PC sales. It is also Australia's leading PC vendor in government and education markets. Theres more!~

In India! Acer is Acer India, the vendor in segments like education, desktop computers and low profile notebooks, mainly for education purposes. The headquarters are in Bangalore, India. Acer India (Pvt) Ltd., was incorporated as a subsidiary of Acer Computer International Ltd. on 9th September 1999. And you would still think there has little technology?

In Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), 2005 Acer ranked among top 10 in 15 countries in that region...

And in the states (USA), Acer America Corporation, headquarters in California, is a member of the Acer Group. Acer's R&D, engineering, manufacturing and marketing operations in the United States and Canada are handled by Acer America Corporation.
In 1990, Acer acquired Altos Computer Systems, one of the top manufacturers of multi-user and networked Unix computer systems for commercial markets. In February 1997, Acer acquired Texas Instruments Mobile Computing business, including the award-winning TravelMate and Extensa notebook lines, making Acer the fourth-leading notebook manufacturer in the United States. Acer America's Canadian office, handles repair of Acer, Gateway, and E-Machine Notebooks and Desktop PCs for Eastern Canada. The repair facility in Texas handles many service oriented functions for North America. Acer owns many brands in the US.

Now enough official information...I dont have much to write on now, so I'll post what I have for the time being..

I thought this was interesting, for you computer lovers out there, this guy actually took apart his lap top, disassembled it, and put it back together, and it works..i might try it one day, but I may need some volunteers to pass me their laptops to try first...keke..

Looking more into Acer

Heres some more history of Acer I've found out today...

It was originally named Multitech, founded by Stan Shih, his wife Carolyn Yeh, and a group of five others in 1976. Multitech was eventually renamed Acer in 1987. It began with eleven employees . It was a distributor of electronic parts and a consultant in the use of microprocessor technologies, but it began to grow as a PC manufacturer. The main headquarters is in Hsinchu City, Taiwan.

In 2000, Acer spun off its manufacturing operation as Wistron Corporation, to focus itself on branding business. In deciding to support the sales through specific marketing activities, Acer grew worldwide.
In 2002, the pan Acer Group employed 39,000 people supporting dealers and distributors in more than 100 countries.
By 2005, Acer employed 7,800 people throughout the world while maintaining a global sales and service network.

In Europe, Acer mounted an association with the Ferrari Formula 1 Team. They were associated with Prost Grand Prix in 2001 and the BAR-Honda team in 2002. Their sponsorship of Prost resulted in buying the naming rights to the engine. Throughout the 2001 season the team were referred to as Prost-Acer. After Prost folded, Acer sponsored the BAR team. Acer then began to offer premium laptops and LCD monitors with Ferrari branding. It broadened its relationship with Ferrari by announcing it will sponsor the Formula 1 team until 2008. Acer recently introduced the Ferrari line of products to North America, and rolled out a Ferrari-branded line of PDA devices.

So Acer ranks as the world's No. 3 branded PC vendor behind the Hewlett Packard Company and Dell Inc, recently claiming the No.3 rank from Lenovo.

In September 2008, Acer surpassed HP and Dell over worldwide notebook shipment becoming No.1 in the world.

Acer Ferrari 1200

Recently released the new Acer Ferrari model 1200..well, i have not really seen this out in the market yet so i can't really tell the difference, i searched for information on the internet and it rumors say that both Acer Ferrari 1000 and 1200 are almost identical, even the surface of the laptop are almost similar, but their performances and internal applications are said to be different..well, that is obvious otherwise they won't even have to design a new model, lol..~ just so you know, this new Acer Ferrari 1200 has been released just this year 30th January..=)

HISTORY of Acer

Guys, i know you've all heard of Acer..maybe because it's spoken quite often among the community...but do you guys really know who is the founder of Acer??well, i just got to know that his name is Stan Shih..you might be wondering who's that old guy in that picture, lol..~he's the founder of Acer in 1976 (Stan Shih)..and that time Acer ranks among the world's top five branded PC vendors..a little history just so you know..~

COMPAQ

Well, this is a Compaq laptop that is currently used by my roommate..just a little comparison between mine and his...instead he bought his laptop even later that i do, and he's been using this for approximately 1 and a half to two years now..guess what?his laptop has speaker problem..i wonder if most laptops do, but mine is still fine..~ not to boast or anything, but as i'm blogging right now i'm listening to song..lol~ so yea, his laptop can't listen to songs clearly, you can hear like the song is breaking or something..~ oh about what model he's using, i don't really know yet, i'll ask him when he's back..~

Acer Ferrari 1000

oh yea, this is Acer Ferrari 1000..currently this is my dream come true kind of laptop!! if only i could have sufficient money i will definitely get this one..it looks really cool and sexy to me..~ this is definitely better than the one i'm currently using now..it has 160GB HDD which is doubled mine,lol.. and also a 1.3megapixel camera at the center of it's screen..~ mine is without camera..~
